Artist Statement
'words of memory'

My work is strongly related with my own history, especially about family.

It’s kind of a diary or secret from my bottom of heart that I don’t want to show or tell to anybody.

I always think that my work is like a confession since I started to make an artwork.

So I always try to be an honest person to myself when I make my work.

From 2007 to 2009,

my work, ‘words of memory’, is a collection of memory about my childhood and family stuff/story.

This work that is made by the method,

‘embroidery’,

have a meaning,

a handmade or handcraft.

That can be extend to meaning of the own family story and roots from generation to generation,

like me who received special spirit, memory or skill from grandmother. 

This work is kind of collection, album or frames that every family has in their home.

So, even if an original idea/story comes from me, it can be every family’s story.
